Empty Signs

Empty Signs draws its inspiration from the aesthetic of mid-century roadside signage. Running through the piece is a nine-minute light score accompanied by a sound effect added to each sign. All the signs begin by blinking independently, but over time they fall into synchronicity with one another. At its peak they all operate as one unit, their sounds harmonizing together. Eventually their collaboration begins to fall apart, and they each return to their original, independent state.
