Lighthouses are often relocated away from eroding cliffs to keep them from toppling into the ocean. Should one fall, it would likely break in half. The Old Lighthouse plays out the possibility of one that has fallen, yet its truncated light continues to rotate and glow. In this scenerio, enough time has transpired for the seaside to have evolved into a forest.
