Five St. Louis Icons

published article
2003

Right after completing grad school, I was offered a Visiting Artist position at Webster University, a school in St. Louis, Missouri. While there I was asked to contribute an article for a local publication. I decided to write about five "icons" in the city that came to hold particular importance for me: the world's tallest fountain, a purposely flooded mall, the world's largest pickup truck, a decommissioned cannon, and an outdoor children's museum made of industrial refuse.
